Indie electro-rock quartet MeteorEYES has announced its line-up of summer east coast tour dates to coincide with the release of Across The Pond, the band’s first full-length album.

MeteorEYES is a light in the mist…a thunder in the cloud….

Hailing from Southwest Florida, MeteorEYES has cast its spell on nationwide audiences, providing an answer for those who question the current political state regarding equality. What secrets lie behind the mask adorned by lead singer, Shannon Fortner? With bold lyrics backlit by a heavy drum, electric guitar, and fuzzy keys, the music of MeteorEYES is a callout to indie music enthusiasts in search of change on and off the dance floor.

Separated from her UK life-partner Kelly due to discrimination against same-sex couples in US immigration policies, Fortner states most of the band’s lyrics stem from the complex emotions associated of being kept ‘across the pond’ from the one she loves. “I want the same rights as my neighbors,” says Fortner. “Nothing more, nothing less.” Songs like Splish Splash speak of lovers tangled in an embrace, tripping and falling, where Fortner recalls the sound of Kelly’s shoes. Escalators is a lusty number depicting two partners on different paths, desperate to connect.

Coinciding with the album release date, the narrative music video for the lead single, Best Text, will premiere on August 27th, 2011 at the 1st Annual Fabulous Independent Film Festival in Sarasota, Florida. Directed by writer Anthony Paull, the video follows five female entities that storm downtown in order to assemble the band. MeteorEYES will perform at the festival’s after-party.
